Hey everybody. And welcome back to The Muniverse Spiritual Business School Podcast. It's been a year since about a year since I posted an update to the podcast. And I think about what's happened in the last 12 months, or I think about what's happened in the last 18 months or two years. If you think about the window of what's been going on, and it's raised a lot of questions for me about why we're all here and what we all need to be focusing on. And, and the time that we have left or the little time that we have left and a lot of cases that we just don't get to know, and it started to put a lot of things into focus for me. And in this period of time, and in this 12 months, I have gone back into the laboratory. I've gone back into what I love, trying to figure out what I love, what I want to connect with, what I want to create.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
And while I was doing that, I got a chance to spend a lot of time with all of you who are on some stage of the journey of thinking about, or, or talking about or working towards or doing it or launching or growing or running your own spiritually based business. And I first have to say hats off to you. And you know, my heart goes to you because you are out there doing the work that, that not only needs to be done, but also for you in your own healing process, in your own spiritual development of expressing who you are and sharing your gifts and breaking through that limiting belief about the fact that you can charge and charge good money for doing the things that you love and start having a career in this industry. That's all part of the dream of what's going on.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
And when I say dream, I really mean it's your opportunity to start sharing your gift and start sharing who you are and start sharing your experiences of spiritual growth and development. A lot of times, I think people don't quite get it, especially if you're subscribed to some form of organized religion or some form of, of, you know, lack of belief or disbelief or skepticism. It's hard to like get into it, but there's so much we don't understand about the world around us and energy and spirit and, and what comes next to that. It's hard to say that it doesn't happen or that there's nothing. And it's hard to say that there is something. And so it's your opportunity and all of our opportunities to publicly or privately explore what spirit means and what it means for you and what it means for your experience and your growth and your development.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
And if something in there is inspiring or something in there creates a change and you start to take that thing and you say, okay, well, if this worked for me, let me start using it to maybe try helping other people. And if you start to use your skill or your gift or your talent, and you start to help one person, and then you help another person and you help another person, and you start to see a pattern in the results that they're getting, that should start to remove any question in your mind of, can I do this? Am I skilled enough? Am I talented enough? Do I have enough experience? Do I have enough training? When you start to do things, you start to get results. If you don't do anything and you kind of lay back or sit back or wait on the couch for spirit to show up and, and, and bring you this business, or this opportunity fully developed, then it most likely won't happen.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Very rarely, very, very rarely will it happen like that, that Cinderella story of, you know, plucked out of obscurity and given an awesome opportunity. It has happened some of the big names. We know Anita Moorjani, there's a book called E Squared. That's a great book. Pam Grout wrote that book. She's another one of those people who it was a Cinderella story of how she got from where she was and a thriving career. And she wanted to explore this energetic thing. So she wrote this book and the book kind of energetically found its way, you know, through the slush pile, onto the desk of the editorial assistant, onto the desk of the editor, onto the desk of the company. And all of a sudden it became this New York Times bestselling book. So those are the things I want you to think about is that it's not that these people are sitting around and waiting.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
It's that they're starting to explore. They're starting to share, they're starting to get out there, get the word out, turn their lights on and start making sure that people out there that are looking for this kind of work, looking for this kind of inspiration, are able to find it and follow this trail of breadcrumbs back to some sort of opportunity. And so the sharing part is sometimes the hardest part, and then other people are very happy and very easily share their story in their gift. And then it's a matter of how do you set up a business on the other side of that so that you can start to capitalize on or make money on or monetize your gifts. And we talk a lot about this. This is maybe one of the number one challenges that spiritual entrepreneurs face is charging for doing the work that they do.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
Um, and if you, if you think about it and the way there's a lot of different ways we talk about this. But my favorite way to review it is to say, look before the dawn of recorded time. When, when, when there were cultures and there were, um, cities and towns and villages and, and groups of people that were existing together, that there was always that one person who had a gift, if it was the gift of healing, the gift of spiritual connection, connecting to the ancestors, whatever it was, and those communities would not allow that person to go without. So if you needed a healing and the healer came and did something for you, then whatever you could give you gave. And at the time, because there was no currency per se, it was a bushel of corn, or it was a fish, or it was a goat, or it was whatever that you'd be able to give to that healer so that they could sustain themselves.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
Yeah. And it would allow them to be able to continue doing the work that they're doing. Now. We don't really exchange goats too often. So we're looking at money and we're looking at PayPal and we're looking at Venmo and we're looking at online, you know, uh, payment processing systems and all of those things that create these gateways, that open channels to financial abundance for you. But it's not just financial. Abundance is energetic exchange. You're putting a lot into, right. The opportunity for healing growth and transformation that you're creating for somebody else. And so they need to value that. And you need to value that and start asking for what you're worth. Now, this is one of those things that you're going to be on a journey of figuring this out. I can't tell you how often I've worked with huge names in the industry, people who are moving and shaking people who are just starting out, and we're all struggling with this question about how much do I charge for my services?
Speaker 2 (07:17):
Can I really charge that? Is it really worth that? Is anyone going to pay for this? And the answer is yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. So the thing I want you to think about, and if you've been here struggling, or if you've been lost or you feel disconnected, or you got frustrated, or you got overwhelmed, or you just needed to take a break, as a lot of us did during this last 18 month period, I don't want you to judge that. I want you to honor the fact that you knew that there was something you needed to do to take care of yourself or in a lot of cases. And I can certainly relate to this, take care of other people and prioritize everyone's health and safety and prioritize the things that make you feel safe and do the things that you need to do in order to feel sustained and take care of yourself.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
But the time I think is now coming for us to take a moment and say, all right, how can I show up differently? If this is the world that we live in now, how can I start showing up as a fully integrated, fully aligned, plugged in spiritual entrepreneur, that's going to start creating change. And even if it's tiny little change, or even if it's just itty bitty things, I want you to know just two or three things here. So, number one, I see you. I want to acknowledge you. I see the work that you're doing. I see the struggle that you're going through. I see the challenges that you're overcoming, the obstacles that you're facing, the, the pressure, the competition, all of these things that we kind of allow to happen. When we think about entrepreneurial endeavors or spiritual businesses or whatever you want to call it.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
I see you. I see that as I'm talking to all these people that I'm doing web reviews with that I'm teaching online classes with that. I'm showing how to do a proper product launch. All of the people that I've been with. I see these gears turning, I see or see the transformation happening. I see your hearts opening. I see your minds expanding. I see you connecting with your soul and your purpose, and I want to acknowledge you. So if that's out there just a little bit for you, if that's something that you've been experiencing or you've been, been doing research, or just listening to this podcast or anything that you're doing, that's moving in the direction of your dreams. I just want to acknowledge you. And then the other thing I want to encourage you to do and think about too, is that you are not, and you have never been alone in this.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
There are so many resources, so many opportunities, so many ways now for us to connect in this new world of online learning and this new world of online learning specifically around spirituality, you're just a couple of clicks away from your people, especially if you're out there in the middle of, you know, in the middle of nowhere or in a place where you're not surrounded by, or you're not immediately connected to people who believe the same things as you or people who are on the same path of sharing their gift. There are so many of us that are out floating in the internet.
